It was certainly not your usual Birthday party. Amy Schumer opened the gala, claiming to be Hillary's best friend.

I managed to meet with President Clinton at the end of the party, shake his hand and give him my book (promptly taken by the secret service). I was sitting with one of Hillary's close advisors, who also got her a signed copy of the book, a copy of the power point that I did for Congressional leaders several months ago at SUNY Adirondack which contains an outline of how to improve Lyme disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention in this country, as well as the Truth Out article by Jessica Bernstein on the politics of Lyme, and how it could be a game changer for the 2016 election. I would suggest however that everyone contact her office about your experience with the disease and how it is spreading in your community, so she fully understands the level of suffering and disability this disease can cause, and how important it will be for the next President to comprehensively address Lyme and tick-borne infections. If we hear anything about Lyme in future speeches, you will know we made some progress.
