..Ik kreeg een promotieplek bij het laboratorium waar ik nog steeds werk. Het ging om Immunopathologie bij het
Q-koortsvermoeidheidssyndroom (QVS): inflammatie (ontsteking) en immunologie. De aandacht wordt nu uitgebreid naar ME/CVS, post Lyme en post COVID, maar ook andere ziektebeelden..

Met het eigen project worden de eerste metingen al gedaan bij het Lyme prospect cohort. Dat gaat om diepe inflammatoire metingen en metabole metingen bij ontstaan van de ziekte en na zes weken.

Met de DSQ lijst (DePaul Symptoms Questionnaire) kijken we na welke mensen aan de ME/CVS criteria voldoen nadat ze klachten bleven houden na de Lyme infectie..

Two weeks ago, our very own Gilian, esteemed AONM member and expert Naturopath & Nutritional Therapist, attended this groundbreaking hybrid event in Jyväskylä, Finland, hosted by Dr Leona Gilbert and her team (creators of the Tickplex and Toxiplex tests run by our partner lab ArminLabs).

This conference marked the first Finnish edition of two internationally recognised events – the Chronic Pathologies Conference and the Crypto Infections Conference – now united under one platform. It brought together leading scientists, clinicians, and patient advocates to explore the latest in chronic infection pathologies, from tick-borne diseases and long COVID to polymicrobial infections.

..2.2. Serology Analysis
Serology analyses for these 110 patients were performed by ArminLabs GmbH (Augsburg, Germany) using TICKPLEX®. ArminLabs GmbH is accredited by the German Accreditation Body DAkkS (International Accreditation No. DIN EN ISO 15189:2014) [46]. It is internationally accredited by CAP (College of American Pathologists) and verified by CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). TICKPLEX® is a CE IVD (in vitro diagnostic) validated diagnostic test that can detect IgM and IgG antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato species, as well as their persistent forms [47]. In addition, TICKPLEX® was used to detect antibodies against other known TBIs, such as Babesia microti, Bartonella henselae, Ehrlichia chaffeensis, and Rickettsia akari [47].
For analyses, patients were indicated to have either “Positive” or “Negative” antibody responses to the tick-borne infections. Results from the serological testing were compiled into an Excel spreadsheet to handle the data and analysis (Supplementary Excel). Additionally, patients were categorized into these subgroups: Borrelia infections only, Borrelia and co-infections, Negative Serology, and Non-Borrelia Infections..

Door de invoering van de IVDR en de MDR wordt het toezicht op de productie van medische hulpmiddelen aangescherpt.
